Prime Minister Mark Carney will arrive in Egypt at 11:35 am local time on Monday October 13 in the Middle East.
He has flown there on this Thanksgiving weekend to attend the signing of a Middle East peace plan that is intended to stop war conflict between Israel and the current leadership in Gaza.
Carney flew out of Ottawa at 6:30 pm this evening (ET) Sunday October 12 to be at the significant political event that will take place in Sharm el-Sheikh in the Sinai Peninsula region (southeast of Cairo, south of Israel).

The signing on October 13 is scheduled for 2:30 pm local time in Egypt (4:30 am Pacific Time).
The agreement is intended to see all hostages released from Gaza and a partial withdrawal of Israeli troops.
Trump in Israel this weekend:
Global political experts generally assess that the peace plan was largely made possible by the transactional political intervention of US President Donald Trump.
Trump has arrived in Israel on the morning of October 12 (their local time) to address the Israeli parliament. US representatives Jared Kusher (former senior advisor to the president in 2017-2021 and son-in-law of the president) and United States Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff have been in Israel for the last few days, finalizing details of the agreement that is to be signed.
The peace plan has had strong input and influence by the US and Israel along with other major countries in the region including Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
Hostages and Hamas:
Reportedly the Hamas terrorist organization (that led the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023) has cooperated with returning hostages but will not be part of any administration in the future of Gaza.
Israeli hostages are being released on Monday morning (Sunday evening PT). CBC-TV is covering the release live.
