The Central Coast Regional District issued an Evacuation Alert yesterday for a portion of the Village of Martin Valley near Ocean Falls.

Out of an abundance of caution, the alert was issued due to possible slope failure on Mt Caro Marion.

Residents were to be ready to leave on short notice, according to an alert posted by the Central Coast Regional District.

The evacuation alert was later rescinded at 5:30 pm after the Ministry of Forests completed a geotechnical assessment.
