An expected shift in summer bus schedules has been announced to be starting on June 30, 2025.
The seasonal service change was announced yesterday by BC Transit and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission.
With the end of the school year, school trips on several routes will be removed for the season but will resume when school returns in the fall.
Increased tourist demand:
To address an increase in tourist demand, more weekend trips are being added to Route 70 Swartz Bay/Downtown and Route 70X Swartz Bay/Downtown Express. Service is being added to Route 75 Saanichton/Royal Oak/Downtown between Butchart Gardens/Keating Cross and Downtown, this includes significantly more trips on Saturdays.
As part of this service change, Route 17 Cedar Hill will be discontinued for the summer.
Minor trip time adjustments are being made to several routes to improve service reliability and timed connections.
For full details see the latest Rider’s Guide.
Transit apps:
BC Transit encourages riders to use the Umo app, Google Transit or any other app of their choice for real-time bus tracking and planning your next transit journey.
