The Lions in Langford 2026 pre-season game will be held on Saturday May 23.
That’s the weekend following the May Long Weekend.
The BC Lions will challenge the Edmonton Elks at Starlight Stadium in Langford that day. Kickoff at 2 pm.
Today’s announcement about the Lions in Langford match was attended by Langford Mayor Scott Goodmanson, Lions President Duane Vienneau, Quarterback Nathan Rouke — all three headlining this announcement for the second year in a row.
This sees BC Lions to return to Langford for a second straight season (in 2025 they played at Starlight Stadium on the May Long weekend). Last year the stadium sold out quickly for the high-profile match.
“It really feels like home,” Vienneau said. “We come in quick, there is no stress, it just feels like we are coming home and it feels really good,” the team’s president said today at a press conference at the stadium.
Bringing big name teams to small-town Langford is part of growing the national sport tourism brand in the growing west shore municipality on southern Vancouver Island.
Night before:
The year the Lions in Langford weekend will kick off on Friday May 22 with a tailgate concert headlined by Victoria country-rock band Born Reckless, with that show opening with local hip-hop funk artist JAXXEE.
