UPDATE:
- February 10 – At 12:51 am on Tuesday February 10, BC Ferries announced that the police incident had been resolved and that the sailing departed Tsawwassen two hours and five minutes behind schedule.
- February 11 – Nanaimo RCMP say that a man (a resident of Nanaimo) who had boarded the vessel with their vehicle at Tsawwassen on Monday night is confirmed to have gone into the water. That became a missing person investigation after the person could not be found in the water. The person is presumed drowned, say RCMP, adding that the family has been informed.

At 11:09 pm this evening February 9, BC Ferries issued a service notice that the vessel at Tsawwassen (Vancouver) is holding in dock due to a police incident.
The 10:45 pm sailing from Tsawwassen is delayed as a result. Still holding in dock as of 11:57 pm.
The route from Tsawassen to Duke Point or Departure Bay is 2 hours on the Coastal Inspiration vessel.
The next departure will be at 5:15 am on Tuesday February 10 on the Queen of Alberni.

More information to come as it becomes available, said BC Ferries in their 11:09 pm notice.
“As soon as the incident is resolved the vessel will resume service.”
