Tonight as people travel back to Vancouver Island on the BC Ferries main route (Vancouver to Victoria, i.e. Tsawassen to Swartz Bay), travellers are advised that vehicle deck space has reached capacity “for the remainder of today, July 30”.
BC Ferries issued this advisory to media at 7:20 pm this evening.
Foot passenger space remains available. It’s recommended that passengers arrive at the terminal 45 to 60 minutes prior to the scheduled sailing that they intend to travel on.
Congestion in parking lots is expected to be “Very busy”, so BC Ferries asks people to consider using a taxi or public transit or to be dropped off at the terminal.
Second time in five days:
This same problem with the vehicle deck becoming full happened with the Vancouver to Victoria sailings on Sunday evening, July 26.
