BC Ferries has increased their fares to travel on their vessels, effective April 8, 2026.
On the main route Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Victoria (Swartz Bay), here is the cost schedule for one-way tickets:
- Passenger (foot or vehicle / at terminal): $21 (age 12+) | $10.50 (age 5 to 11) | Free (under age 5)
- Group Fares (10+ passengers / pre paid only): $17.95 (age 12+) | $8.95 (age 5 to 11)
- Standard vehicle (Cars, Trucks, Motorhomes | up to 20 ft length): $89 | Motorcycles $44.50
The same fares (as above) go into effect on April 8, 2026 for the West Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) to Nanaimo (Departure Bay) route, and the Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Nanaimo (Duke Point) sailings.
Seniors:
Seniors travel free on most major routes, Monday to Thursday.
The Seniors discount is not available on statutory holidays including New Year’s Day (January 1), BC Family Day, Victoria Day, Canada Day (July 1), BC Day, Labour Day, National Truth and Reconciliation Day (September 30), Canadian Thanksgiving, Christmas Day (December 25).

Reasons:
Fare increases happen nearly every year, as one way to keep up with the costs of running the fleet (including fuel, staffing and maintenance) and associated infrastructure costs (including maintenance and upgrades).
