One more BC Conservative leadership contestant has dropped out of the party’s leadership race.
Today in social media Warren Hamm announced that he is putting his campaign support behind Yuri Fulmer.
Business, budgets and results:
“Thank you to everyone who supported this journey. BC needs real change—leaders who understand business, budgets, and results,” said Hamm in social media today.
“To move that forward, I’m supporting Yuri Fulmer [@yurifulmer] and his team. He is the only other builder in this race and together we can win. Let’s unite, defeat the NDP, and build a stronger, more prosperous British Columbia,” said Hamm in his post on X.
Five in the race:
That leaves five candidates (down from the initial 10) in the race: Iain Black, Caroline Elliott, Kerry-Lynne Findlay, Yuri Fulmer, and Peter Milobar.
All the contestants are based in the Greater Vancouver lower mainland area. None have any sort of strong foothold on Vancouver Island.
Only Milobar is currently an elected MLA, serving as Finance Critic for the Official Opposition in the BC Legislative Assembly.

Timeline:
Remaining contestants must have paid $40,000 by April 1 to remain in the race. Then another $60,000 is due to the Party on or before April 18.
BC Conservative Party members who are registered by April 18 may vote for the new leader. Voting takes place during May 9 to 30.
There is a weighted electoral district process. There will be candidate eliminations in every round of voting. The winner must receive more than 50% of the vote.
