BC Budget 2027 consultation process gets underway

Apply by April 10, 2026 to make a presentation to the committee.

The ink is barely dry on the mid-February delivery (and criticism of) BC Budget 2026, as planning for BC Budget 2027 gets underway.

The Province’s Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services has this week announced Budget 2027 consultation detail.

The committee will hold several public meetings to hear from British Columbians about their priorities for Budget 2027.

The meetings are anticipated to take place in June 2026, and will be a mix of in-person and virtual meetings.

The committee is tasked by the legislative assembly to undertake an annual public consultation on the next provincial budget and to make recommendations based on its consultation.

The current Minister of Finance is Brenda Bailey.

Locations:

The committee expects to hold in-person meetings in the following communities:

  • Mainland locations: Burnaby, Castlegar, Cranbrook, Dawson Creek, Kamloops, Kelowna, Mission, Prince George, Smithers, Vancouver
  • Vancouver Island locations: Nanaimo, Victoria

Presentations to the committee, or written submissions:

  • British Columbians are asked to indicate their interest in speaking with the committee by Friday April 10, 2026, at 2 pm (Pacific time) by completing a request form on the Parliamentary Committees Consultation Portal.
  • The opportunity to provide written input to the committee will be available beginning in June 2026.
