This summer’s Sooke Family Resource Society Thrift Shop Customer and Donor Appreciation Day will be held on Saturday August 17.
There will be cake at the Thrift Shop (6715 West Coast Road) and a giant book sale on the grassy boulevard across the street at Cedar Grove Centre.
A great chance to mingle with the local community. All that from 10 am to 2 pm.
Shop operator Bev Lewis says everyone has a good time at these events which celebrate the generosity of donors and how needs of the community are met.
The shop first opened in 2015. Items that are suitable for sale are offered at reasonable prices. Items that require recycling are handled responsibly.
The shop offers volunteer opportunities and has some part-time staff.
