Friday, May 11 ~ WEST SHORE REGION.

As election campaigns start to roll out in municipalities and school districts throughout BC toward the October 20 election, it’s a good time to start looking at the issues that are likely to drive the campaigns and the voter interest (which are not necessarily one and the same).

In the west shore those issues are almost certainly going to include housing affordability and availability (development, OCPs, zoning), transportation (modes, corridors), overall cost of living (Greater Victoria is one of the most expensive places in Canada), and how well the school districts are keeping up with growth, social change and responsibilities to parents.
