A fun holiday season event called ‘Spirit of Giving’ is coming up at the Juan de Fuca Arena and Lacrosse Box this Friday evening, December 9, from 4 pm to 7 pm.

Event entry is *free* and food bank donations are encouraged.

“Join us for the kick-off to Winter Wonderland with free skating, holiday crafts, games, festivities, food trucks, and more!,” say the organizers at West Shore Parks and Recreation (WSPR) which operates the arena and many other facilities and programs at the 1767 Island Highway location in Colwood.

And, don’t forget to pick up your Christmas tree at Santa’s Forest (JDF lacrosse box)!

Free skating: 

  • 4:30-5:30 PM Family skate
  • 6:00-7:00 PM Family skate
  • 7:30-8:30 PM Teen skate

Crafts:

  • Holiday swag
  • Silly rock’n Santas
  • Christmas crafty tree ornaments

Activities:

  • Pin the nose on the reindeer
  • North Pole ring toss
  • Shop for the family Christmas tree

Food:

  • Free hot chocolate at Santa’s Forest (in the lacrosse box)
  • Food trucks
