The memorial tree-planting ceremony to remember Brenda Parkinson will be held right after the long weekend, on Tuesday August 6 in John Phillips Memorial Park at 1 pm.
The District of Sooke has posted information about parking availability. Essentially they’re indicating the primary parking area being along Otter Point Road at Wadams Way (right near the park), with overflow parking next to Sooke Fire Hall #1 (which will require a bit of a walk back over the park).

The late District of Sooke Councillor Brenda Parkinson passed away on June 28, 2019 but has already left a wake of activities and remembrances in her wake, including the dedication of Sooke Canada Day 2019 in her name.
