The price of a Lotto Max ticket will be $6 starting April 11.
That’s to support a new draw format for Lotto Max, which will kick in with the April 14, 2026 draw.
Numbers from 1 to 52 will still be used.
New $90 million jackpot:
Starting April 14, 2026 the Lotto Max jackpot cap will increase to $90 million (up from the current $80 million), which BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) says is a record-breaking jackpot for a Canadian lottery.
Four rows of numbers:
Starting with the April 14, 2026 draw, Lotto Max tickets will be comprised of four rows of seven numbers numbers each (up from the current three rows).
As in the current ticket purchase process, a player can choose their own numbers (from 1 to 52) for one line on the ticket.
In the new draw, players can still choose one set of numbers for the first line on their ticket; the next three lines will be system-generated.
The quick pick will still be available (all four lines will be system-generated).
MaxMillion continues:
The popular $1 million MaxMillion prizes — for matching all numbers that are system-generated on every ticket — will still be available on all draws that offer a jackpot of $50 million and above.
MaxMillion prizes grow as the jackpot does.
New Max Plus feature:
Starting with the April 14, 2026 Lotto Max draw will be a new feature offering multiple $100,000 prizes with every draw, based on the jackpot amount.
For example, when the jackpot is $10 million, 10 additional $100,000 prizes will be drawn, and so on, up to 90 additional $100,000 prizes.
Better odds:
The new LOTTO MAX offers improved odds of winning any prize — up from 1 in 7 to 1 in 5.8.
You’ll also have better chances of matching three or four numbers from the main draw to win a Free Play or $20 cash.
Draw timeline:
LottoMax tickets may be purchased up to 7:21 pm (Pacific Time) on draw nights (Tuesdays and Fridays).
The draw takes place at 7:30 pm Pacific Time / 10:30 pm Eastern Time and winning tickets and prize breakdowns are published after that.
Announcement timeline:
BC Lottery Corporation announced this increase in the ticket price back in January.
