Drivers heading to and from downtown Victoria can expect delays on Blanshard Street starting March 21.
Paving and milling work on Blanshard Street between Caledonia Avenue and Bay Street will be taking place March 21-24 (Saturday through Tuesday) and March 28-31 (Saturday through Tuesday).

Construction will take place from 7 am to 7 pm and is weather dependent; it may be delayed by cold or wet conditions.
Tentative closure schedule:
- March 21-24: Northbound Blanshard St. (Caledonia Ave. to Bay St.)
*Note: On March 21 and 24 the closure will start at Fisgard St.
- March 28-31: Southbound Blanshard St. (Caledonia Ave. to Bay St.)

What to expect:
- Detours and major traffic delays
- Some sections of sidewalk will be closed, accessible detours will be provided
- Cyclists will be asked to dismount and walk when crossing Blanshard St.
- Access to private properties will be maintained with delays
- Visit alerts.bctransit.com for live updates on bus route or stop changes
No matter how you get around, use caution when travelling near work zones and follow directions of signs and crews.

This work is part of the Blanshard North multimodal street upgrades, which include road paving and maintenance, protected bike lanes, accessibility and safety improvements and a new traffic signal at Blanshard and Pembroke St. This work connects to recently completed improvements south of Caledonia Ave.
Construction is scheduled to be completed this summer. The City and contractor will do everything possible to minimize disruptions during construction. Learn more at victoria.ca/majorprojects.
