“This regime can never have a nuclear weapon,” said US President Donald J Trump in an eight-minute video early on Saturday morning (Eastern time), announcing that the US and Israel have bombed Iran’s capital city of Tehran.
Bombing is apparently happening in various cities in Iran, according to CNN early on this Saturday morning. Bombing retaliation is expected in Israel.
CNN reports that bombing started around 10 am local time in Iran, where Saturday is a normal working day.
Video statement:
Trump posted the video on his social media platform Truth Social, confirming the US was involved in the attack on Iran. This comes after he told Americans in recent days that he had still been hoping for a diplomatic resolution.
Trump is at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida this weekend, as reported by CNN this evening.
Midnight Hammer last June “oblierated Iran’s nuclear regime”, said Trump. After that, the US warned IRan never to resume their pursuit of nuclear weapons.
The regime killed many of their own citizens who were protesting in recent months. “They just wanted to practice evil,”said Trump this evening.
“They rejected every opportunity to renounce their nuclear ambitions and we can’t take it anymore,” said Trump about Iran’s current regime. The Iranian navy will also be destroyed, said Trump.
They continued developing long range missiles, said Trump this evening. He said Iran could have developed nuclear missiles that could reach as far as the US mainland. “We are going to destroy their missiles and raze their missile industry to the ground.”
US taking charge:
“No one should challenge the might and strength of the United States armed forces,” said Trump.
“The Iranian regime seeks to kill. We’re doing this not for now, but for the future,” said Trump.
An opportunity for Iranians:
“The hour of your freedom is at hand. Stay sheltered. Bombs will be dropping everywhere,” Trump said for the benefit of people in Iran on Saturday morning local time.
When this is over the people are encouraged to build their own government, said Trump. “Seize control of your destiny”.
“This is the moment for action, do not let it pass,” said Trump, who has been supporting the opportunity for regime change in Iran.
