Today Tuesday January 27 around 1:20 pm, West Shore RCMP responded to a report of a serious collision involving two vehicles on Highway 14 (aka Sooke Road) in 4100-block.
The crash resulted in serious life-threatening injuries. There are no further details at this time.
Weather has been dry for at least 10 days. Mid-afternoon skies were slightly overcast but roads were dry.
The 4100-block of the provincial highway in Metchosin (west of Humpback Road / east of Kangaroo Road) was closed in both directions as emergency personnel attend the scene.
That section of highway remained closed until 3:30 pm so that collision reconstruction could be done.
Traffic between Langford and Sooke would have been impacted for commuters, tourists and mobile business vehicles.
Kangaroo Road through Metchosin and East Sooke had remained open as an alternative for motorists heading to and from the West Shore.
“We thank the public for their patience as emergency personnel worked the scene,” says Cpl Nancy Saggar, Media Relations Officer, West Shore RCMP.
