The Annual Langford Lightup happens tomorrow – Saturday December 6.
That kicks off the month-long Langford Winter Fest .
Events are held at two locations: Veterans Memorial Park (corner of Goldstream Avene) and at Station Avenue (across the street from VMP).
Santa arrives at 5:15 pm (with photo opportunities in the tinsel gazebo at Veterans Memorial Park until 7 pm).
The Langford Lightup happens at 7:15 pm. There will be an outdoor market, magic show and live music.
The IEOA Truck Parade comes through Langford around 7:30 pm.

CITY OF LANGFORD WINTER FESTIVAL

The City of Langford is pleased to announce the scheduled activities for its annual Winter Festival, running for the month of December. This year’s program includes a diverse array of activities suitable for families and individuals of all ages.
Winter Fest event kicks off today, Friday, December 5th with the magical carousel from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. While admission is free, guests are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items for the Goldstream Food Bank. Guests may also choose to donate at the Tip Tap stations available at the event to support the South Island Primary Care Society (SIPCS). Volunteers will be present at the Langford van parked at Veterans Memorial Park to collect donations.
Event breakdown
Saturday, December 6th, Annual Langford Light up, including:
- Continued carousel fun at Veterans Memorial Park running from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Day one of the Winter Fest market happening at two locations, Veterans Memorial Park and The Langford Station from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. (proceeds support SIPCS).
- Visit the newly added festive ‘Whoville Hut’ for a photo op with the Grinch at The Langford Station from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- A fun cookie decorating station for all ages to enjoy at The Langford Station from 3.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Meet Santa, arriving by fire truck at 5:15 p.m., with photo opportunities in the tinsel gazebo at Veterans Memorial Park until 7:00 p.m. Join in Langford’s traditional tree lighting ceremony that follows at 7:15 p.m., featuring a special magic show hosted by local magician Jason Verners, who will also be performing captivating magic tricks throughout the event.

- Watch the IEOA Truck Parade pass through Langford around 7:30 p.m., featuring an incredible procession of decorated trucks.
Festivities continue on Sunday, December 7th with:
- Continued carousel fun at Veterans Memorial Park running 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Winter Fest market, at Veterans Memorial Park and The Langford Station from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Photos with Santa at the tinsel gazebo at Veterans Memorial Park from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

- New this year, celebrate the beauty of Colombian culture during the cherished Dia de las Velitas (Day of Little Candles) tradition at The Langford Station from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Parking is limited on event days; please consider walking, cycling, or using free lots at The Langford Station and Claude Road. In addition to the Light Up weekend, this year’s festival offers a variety of activities and experiences for all ages:
2025 Winter Fest Highlights:
- Holiday LEGO Exhibit: Visit Westshore Town Centre for a festive LEGO display, open December 9th to 21th.
- Holiday Matinee Movies: Enjoy matinee screenings of The Polar Express (December 13th, 10 a.m.) and The Grinch (December 14th, 2 p.m.) at Cineplex Odeon West Shore, with donations encouraged for the Goldstream Food Bank.
- Teen Winter Ice Skating: SD62 students skate free at City Centre Park on select Saturdays in December and January (8:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.).
- Outdoor Ice Skating: Enjoy a festive skate at City Centre Park’s Outdoor Rink on select dates in November, December, and January. Click here for the schedule.
- Tinsel Gazebo & Light Displays: Capture magical moments at Veterans Memorial Park and Station Avenue, with new photo stations and sparkling decorations from December 5th to January 5th, featuring hundreds of glittering tinsel ornaments and lights, perfect for festive photos!
- Family Swim and Bounce House: Celebrate Winterfest at Westhills YMCA/YWCA (Dec 20th, 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) with free swim, hot chocolate, crafts, bounce castle, games, Family Glow Yoga (4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.), and photos with Santa!
- Family Coding Workshops: Enjoy a free 1-hour family coding workshop with Code Ninjas on specific days. Spots are limited, register in advance to secure your place. Learn more by clicking here.
- Outdoor Adventures: Enjoy winter walks, cycling, and other outdoor activities throughout Langford’s parks and trails.
