A Community Information Session on Police & Public Safety Planning and Resourcing is being hosted in Langford next Tuesday evening.
Communities serviced by the West Shore RCMP are invited to learn more about police and public safety planning and resourcing.
There will also be information on the plans and financing for the new West Shore RCMP detachment building.
The West Shore RCMP Mservice area includes Langford, Colwood, View Royal, Highlands, Metchosin and two First Nations: Songhees and Esquimalt.
December 9 evening:
The community information session will be held on Tuesday evening, December 9, from 6 to 8 pm at the Langford Business Centre (Nootka Rose Room on the second floor), 2840 Peatt Road.

- Doors open at 5:30 pm.
- The session will be presented by two subject matter experts in the field of policing.
- Questions and answers at 7 pm.

Assessing best practices:
The communities serviced by the West Shore RCMP are assessing best practices for police and public safety planning and resourcing.
The December 9 session will share information and present approaches used in other communities.
The City of Langford says the purpose of this work is to ensure policing resources align with community needs and residents’ lived experiences.
Parking:
Free public parking is available under the building (access from Peatt Road). On-street parking also available.
