For five hours on Friday afternoon, an eager group of Royal Roads University grad students presented their sustainability research work at a public presentation.
The venue was the main floor gathering space at the Royal Roads University John Horgan campus in downtown Langford for the South Island Community Research Exchange event.
RRU professors Brian White and Rob Newell were on hand.

The South Island Community Research Exchange explored local regional research projects in areas like health services, food systems, tourism, recreation, infrastructure management and Reconciliation.
Interactive displays included touch screens, poster presentations and virtual reality experiences.
Attendees could mingle with the researchers and provide feedback on their projects as well as share ideas and suggestions for future research topics to explore in the region

Student skills in inquiry and presentation were on their best display. The project boards will be put up on display at the main RRU campus.

Some Langford municipal councillors and various community stakeholders and RRU folks dropped by to chat with the students and their professors.
Langford City Councillor Mary Wagner says she was impressed by the students. “The projects were exciting and so well presented!”, said Wagner.

This is the second year for a similar type of presentation. Last year’s event was held in the library building at the main Royal Roads Campus in Colwood.
