This Remembrance Week, first-term Member of Parliament Jeff Kibble (Cowichan-Malahat-Langford) has issued a statement on Remembrance Day as a veteran as well as an MP.
“My wife served, my grandfather served, many or my closest friends served or they still wear the uniform. For us, this week is not ceremonial, it is lived We remember those we served beside, those we lost, and those still deployed — protecting our freedoms and our sovereignty,” said Conservative MP Kibble today in a statement that he has posted in social media.
“To every Canadian in uniform — past, present and in the future — thank you. To families who carry the weight of service, your strength does not go unnoticed.”
“Remembrance isn’t easy but it’s our duty. To honour their courage, to uphold their legacy, and to teach our children what sacrifice truly means.”
“So we wear the poppy, we show up. We remember with humility, with pride, and with unwavering respect. Lest we forget.”

In Duncan this year:
Jeff Kibble’s riding of Cowichan-Malahat-Langford includes Langford, the Cowichan-Duncan region, and Juan de Fuca beyondJordan River up to Port Renfrew.
Kibble will attend the Remembrance Day ceremony in Duncan, BC this year. He will be there with a 103-year-old veteran who flew a Spitfire in WWII, as he told his audience on Facebook this week.
The Coiwchan-Malahat-Langford office will have representatives at all cenotaphs in the riding, said Kibble in a statement.
