It’s looking like Halloween will be a wet experience for trick or treaters this year in the Greater Victoria area.
The Environment Canada Greater Victoria area forecast shows rain through tomorrow October 30 and Friday October 31 (Halloween).
Temperatures will be relatively cool for being outdoors heading door to door in search of treats: a high of 11°C on Friday falls to a nighttime temperature of 9°C.
The forecast includes wind for Friday night (but not strong enough to be a wind warning).
Safety at night:
Remember your safety smarts… walk in lit areas and travel in groups. Wear reflective clothing or battery-powered lights.
Head to a community Halloween event or go trick or treating in a familiar neighbourhood.
Weekend rain as well:
Rain will continue on Saturday and Sunday.
But you can head out to take your pumpkin to Porcher Park Community Garden (828 Wren Place, Langford) for composting.
Or go to one of the pumpkin smash events (at Westshore Town Centre in Langford on Nov 1 or the firehall in View Royal on Nov 2). See the Island Social Trends Community Calendar for details.
