The 2025 UBCM Convention will take place September 22 to 26 in Victoria, BC at the Victoria Conference Centre.
Mayors and municipal councillors from across British Columbia attend UBCM conventions each year.
The timing of this particular convention is one year ahead of the 2026 municipal elections and the third year into the BC NDP government under Premier David Eby (eight years BC NDP government since 2017).

Plenary session on the economy:
The plenary session on Tuesday will focus on BC’s economy. Speakers will assess how serious the situation is and consider challenges to getting the economy back on course.
BC Minister Brenda Bailey (who delivered the province’s First Quarterly Report on September 15) will deliver opening remarks followed by an economic overview from a managing director with the National Bank of Canada. Panelists will respond to the overview and take questions from the audience.
Provincial leaders:
Each convention highlights speeches from current provincial leaders, this year including Premier David Eby on Friday September 26 and BC Conservative Leader john Rustad on Thursday September 25.
Keynote speeches:
Keynote speakers include international development leader Marcy Grossman (on Monday) and Federal Housing and Infrastructure Minister Gregor Robertson (on Friday).
