COLWOOD:

  • 500 Block Latoria Road at Veterans Memorial Parkway – Tuesday September 16 (9 am to 3 pm) for concrete curb work.
  • Lagoon Road between Milburn Dr and Heatherbell Road – Thursday September 18 (9 am to 3 pm). Road will be closed. BC Transit buses should use Hockering Rd or Aloha Ave.
  • Island Highway between Wale Rd and Goldstream Ave. Tuesday September 23 (9 pm overnight to 6 am on Wednesday). Overnight road closure for work on Galloping Goose Pedestrian Crossing (installation of Galloping Goose Pedestrian Bridge). Watch for Detour signage.
  • North side of Pelican Drive (452 to 466 Pelican Dr)Tuesday Sept 23 to Thursday October 2 (weekdays – 7 am to 5 pm). Rock scaling, bolting and meshing as part of rockfall protection during an earthquake.

HIGHLANDS:

  • None at this time.

LANGFORD:

  • Drilling and blasting as required at 3003 Irwin Road (from August 2025 to March 2026); open period of Mon to Fri, 12 short whistle signals before the blast.

METCHOSIN:

  • Rocky Point.- Three to five days over September 17 into early October – prescribed burning pf up to 50 hectares at Rocky Point in Metchosin by BC Wildfire Service for the Dept of National Defence. To mitigate fire risks, maintain open natural landscapes for military training, and protect and restore Garry Oak ecosystems which support many species at risk. Burns will be done when weather and atmospheric conditions are “most favourable and within site specific fire indices”. Expect some smoke during prescribed burns.

NORTH SAANICH:

  • Paving on McTavish RdSept 8 to 12
  • Paving at 1921 Mills Road – Thursday September 18 (increase in construction vehicles); Saturday September 20 (single lane closures; flight path trail will be closed to pedestrians for part of the day).

SAANICH:

  • Mount Douglas Park / Churchill Drive. Starting Monday September 29, work will be done on the planned stair construction in preparation for the new cell phone tower project expected to begin in early 2026. Area around the summit will be blocked off (for safety reasons). During construction two parking stalls will be unavailable. There will bed periodic closures of trail entrances/exits near the summit construction site. Stair project will take about eight weeks (i.e. to around the end of November).

SOOKE:

  • Line painting throughout Sooke during September 2025. Includes crosswalk, stop bars, arrows and other key road markings. Two shifts: day (8:30 am to 3:30 pm) and evening (6 pm to 1:30 am). Using thermalplastic painting which increases visibility for up to three years.
  • Todd Creek bridge closure on September 16. No access to Sooke Potholes from 6 am to 4 pm.

VICTORIA :

  • Bay Street Bridge – lane closure starting October 7 (east lane from Vic West to downtown).
  • Highway 1 construction zone continues between approximately McKenzie/Admirals to Uptown.

VIEW ROYAL:

  • Island Highway – Sept 8 to 26. Various locations between Burnett Road and Admirals Road. BC Hydro accessing manholes along Island Highway. Work during day and night. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained. Expect intermittent delays.

CENTRAL VANCOUVER ISLAND:

  • Bamfield Main Road – work underway until the end of October, on a 1.5-km section between Kilometre 8 and 9.5 where unstable slopes, dangerous trees and debris flow risks remain (following wildfire management).
