The Canada Post network became “fully operational” today, says Canada Post in a news release this evening.
“After welcoming back our employees and restarting our machines and vehicles, our network became fully operaitonal Wednesday afternoon and Canadians have started to receive mail,” said Canada Post in their December 18 news release.
Beginning Thursday December 19, Canada Post will begin accepting commercial inductions in their network.
- Scheduled pickups will resume.
- Mail and parcels can be dropped off at plants, depots and commercial deposit centres
- All new mail and parcels will be processed on a first-in, first-out basis.
Customers should expect delivery delays through the remainder of 2024 and into January 2025, says Canada Post.
Canada Post workers were back on the job yesterday, December 17, after being on strike for a month (November 15 to December 16).
Nearly everyone who relies on Canada Post delivery services has been impacted by the month-long strike, including those relying on holiday-season parcel delivery which includes many small businesses.
