Your 28-day voter’s guide for BC Election 2024
There’s an atmospheric river pouring some heavy rainfall onto south Vancouver Island tonight.
But that hasn’t rained on the enthusiasm of Mike Harris’ BC Conservative campaign in Langford-Highlands.
Harris and his team were out campaigning right up to 7 pm this evening, getting out every last BC Conservative vote they could find.
“We’re here in the last hours of the eve of the election. The Conservatives are fighting for you, for your vote, for your kids, for your province,” said Harris in a video posted on TikTok this evening.
There are eight voting place locations in Langford-Highlands for voting on Saturday October 19, 2024. Polls are open 8 am to 8 pm at all locations.
Voters can vote at any voting place location, bring your voter ID card that was sent by postal mail. If you aren’t already registered to vote, that can be done when you arrive at the polling station, bring ID.

Big rally in Nanaimo:
Harris and his team were part of the all-riding Vancouver Island BC Conservative rally headlined by BC Conservative Party Leader John Rustad in Nanaimo on October 16.
The energy has really ramped up for BC Conservatives in several island ridings on Vancouver Island. They are capitalizing on the ‘common sense’ message combined with the angst and dissatisfaction that many people, households, businesses and communities feel about life in BC right now.
A lot of that frustration comes from things beyond the control of the BC government but that hasn’t seemed to matter to those who just have a visceral need for change.
Voting against the current BC NDP government may bring a sense of power in the moment of voting, but if tomorrow night the province ends up with a BC Conservative government a lot will change. Change may be inevitable but what direction things change is what’s at stake in the October 19 election.
Election prediction:
Island Social Trends is predicting a narrow win for the BC NDP tomorrow night, with either a slight majority (about 51 seats) or a large minority. Either way, the BC Conservatives will form what is likely to be a robust official opposition in the 93-seat BC Legislative Assembly for the next four years.
