BC Transit and its local government partners will be marking the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, 2024 with orange ribbons and T-shirts.
In a show of support, orange ribbons will be tied to bus mirrors in Victoria and in some communities across the province, said BC Transit in a news release today. Some operators may also choose to show support by wearing orange shirts.
“BC Transit understands there is much work to be done to understand the Truth of our shared history and honour Reconciliation,” it was stated in today’s release.
The organization says it continues to work with Indigenous communities and other partners on various projects to expand transit services in several Indigenous communities across BC to help support those regions.
Bus service on Monday September 30 will vary in each region. Visit bctransit.com for all holiday schedules.
