The Province has announced that licensed premises will be allowed to open at 5:00 am on Sunday morning, February 22.
That’s to coincide with the Olympic Gold Medal Men’s hockey game that starts brodcasting/livestreaming at 5:00 am PT, from the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Italy.
Canada will be playing against the US team for Gold.

The Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) reminds local governments to issue approval for the change to take effect for establishments within their boundaries.
Meanwhile, the BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association (BCRFA) President Ian Tostenson says “each municipality needs to approve these hours but a blanket request to the Union of BC Municipalities has gone out ecnouraging each local government to support these hours in the spirit of this unique situation”.
