Almost $400,000 has been issued to off-road trail organizations to maintain existing trails, build new ones, as well as to promote safe and responsible use among riders.
The $399,893.32 in provincial grants issued in 2025 through the Off Road Trail Fund went to 20 organizations including the Vancouver Island Dirt Riders Association receiving $20,000 for their Tansky Trail Repairs Project near Jordan River.
The Province says that off-road vehicle enthusiasts will enjoy improved trails and recreation infrastructure in several communities throughout B.C. as a result of this year’s support.
In 2024 the total fund support was $373,759, and also $400,000 in 2023.
Now in its eighth year, the ORV Trail Fund is a user-funded program administered by Recreation Sites and Trails BC in partnership with the BC Power Sports Coalition. Since its beginning in 2017, more than $2 million has supported 160 projects throughout the province, removing financial barriers for communities and volunteer groups.
Off road vehicles include off road motorcycles, ATVS, and snowmobiles.
Enjoying the outdoors:
“Outdoor recreation connects people to nature,” said Tamara Davidson, Minister of Environment and Parks. “It’s all about staying active, building community and respecting our natural spaces.
The ORV Trail Fund helps keep our trail networks safe and provides space for people to come together to enjoy the outdoors.”
Mostly volunteer groups:
The projects are mainly led by volunteer groups and organizations that contribute thousands of hours to maintain and improve trails throughout the province.
