On Friday April 24, West Shore RCMP Drugs and Organized Crime Unit executed three search warrants on separate properties where drug trafficking was suspected, as informed to the public through a news release today.

“Investigators conducted covert surveillance and gathered evidence of drug trafficking,” it was stated in the release.

“The search warrants were executed on residences located in the Greater Victoria area including Sooke, Saanich and Langford. Investigators believe these residences were connected in a sophisticated multi-jurisdictional drug trafficking ring.”

“This was a lengthy and complex investigation requiring many police resources,” says West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer Cst Nancy Saggar.

“Three suspects have been arrested for drug trafficking and firearms related offences. We seized a significant amount of cocaine packaged and ready to be sold. We also seized numerous firearms as well as three sets of soft and hard body armour along with hundreds of rounds of ammunition and prohibited magazines,” said Cpl. Walsh of the Drugs and Organized Crime Unit.

As a result of this investigation police seized 25 firearms including a pistol equipped with a silencer, a fully loaded restricted AR-15 style carbine rifle and a prohibited sawed off shot gun. In addition to the firearms, police seized over $9000 dollars in cash, cocaine and two vehicles used to traffic drugs.

A 25-year-old woman and two men ages 36 and 46 were arrested. West Shore RCMP Drugs and Organized Crime Unit says they are continuing their investigation and charges are forthcoming.
