On Monday May 18 on the May long weekend, a large pickup truck crashed into a rock wall on McCallum Road near Cavalcade Terrace in Langford in broad daylight around 1:30 pm, landing on a residential front yard.

The male driver of the white F-150 truck was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was taken to the hospital.

Police located a small quantity of narcotics inside the truck and are continuing their investigation to determine if impairment was a factor in this collision, says Cst Nancy Saggar, Media Relations Officer, West Shore RCMP.

“Incredibly, no one other than the driver was injured in this collision, said Cst. Saggar. The driver was unresponsive when RCMP frontline officers arrived.

On scene, RCMP investigators determined that the truck had been travelling on McCallum Road toward Florence Lake Road when it crossed into the oncoming lane and over the sidewalk, hitting a maple tree and finally crashing into the rock wall on the front lawn of a home in the 800-block of McCallum Road.
