Serious Coffee View Royal is open for business, for take-out only during COVID-19. That change came into effect on March 20.
Located at 1703 Island Highway it’s usually a busy shop.
But now all the tables are pushed back, no seating allowed. There is counter service for fresh coffee as well as the wrapped food items and bags of coffee beans.
Owner Eric Chang says two employees are still working, but that he had to lay off four other employees due to the dramatic drop in business.
The new hours at Serious Coffee View Royal during the Provincial Health Officer’s restrictions on restaurants and for adhering to physical distancing are Monday to Friday 5:30 am to 4 pm, and Saturdays/Sundays from 7 am to 4 pm.
If not feeling well, people are asked to not visit the coffee shop at this time.
The coffee shop has increased their cleaning practice. Staff have been instructed to disinfect all surfaces on an hourly basis. They are to wash their hands diligently and repeatedly throughout their shifts.
“We are hopeful that these measures will help sustain our business,” says Eric, who says all customers are valued customers. He hopes people will “continue to be a part of the solution” by still coming to
Serious Coffee View Royal .
There are two options to obtain coffee: delivery and pre-order. To pre-order, send order by email to viewroyal@seriouscoffee.com or phone 778-430-5282.
For delivery, the minimum order must be $30 if you’re in Colwood/View Royal or $40 if in Metchosin. Only accepting cash (there is no mobile credit card machine available).
