There are several ongoing COVID immunization clinics in the Greater Victoria area.
Vaccine products available in BC include Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca. The large clinics are primarily now using Pfizer and Moderna (the mRNA types).
In Island Health, to date (Oct 1) most of the vaccine doses administered have been Pfizer (70.2%), then Moderna doses (27.2%) and AstraZeneca (2.6%).
Here are this region’s Island Health immunization clinic locations and hours:
WEST SHORE:
Westshore Town Centre (174-2945 Jacklin Road in Langford, inside the mall near the Winners store): Opened on September 9. Hours: 11:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. Open 10:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Saturdays.
SAANICH / PENINSULA:
University Heights Mall (3980 Shelbourne St, in Saanich): Opening on Oct 5. Hours: Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.
Peninsula Health Unit (2170 Mount Newton Cross Rd): Open Sundays only. 9 am to 3:40 pm (closed 12 noon to 12:30 pm)
DOWNTOWN VICTORIA:
Victoria Health Unit (1947 Cook Street, in Victoria): Opened on Oct. 1. Hours: Sat to Mon: 9 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. (closed 12 -12:30 p.m.). Closed on Thanksgiving Monday (Oct. 11).
SOOKE:
Evergreen Shopping Centre (1180-6660 Sooke Rd). Open Sundays through Tuesdays. Hours: 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. (closed 12 noon to 1 p.m.). Closed on Thanksgiving Monday (Oct. 11).
On the island’s east side:
COWICHAN VALLEY:
Lake Cowichan Health Unit (58 W. Cowichan Ave). Opened Sept 29. Every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Closed 12 noon to 1 pm)
DUNCAN:
Cowichan Community Centre (2687 James St): New hours starting Oct 3: Sunday through Wednesday (9 am to 4 pm). Thursdays: 12 noon to 7 pm. Closed on Fridays and Saturdays.
NANAIMO:
Beban Park Social Centre (2300 Bowen Rd): Open Tuesdays to Fridays. Hours: 12:30 to 7:30 p.m. (closed 3 to 4 pm). Open Saturdays 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (closed 12 noon to 1 p.m.)
