The grounds of Hatley Park National Historic Site are closed to vehicle access by visitors effective immediately, it was advised by Royal Roads University this afternoon Friday March 27.

Visitor parking facilities and the Hatley Park gardens are also closed to the public.

Royal Roads University is located within Hatley Park National Historic Site. Parks Canada has temporarily suspended all motor vehicle access by visitors at all national historic sites and national parks, until further notice.

Parks Canada is asking Canadians to stay home during the COVID-19 infectious disease pandemic, and requests that anyone considering a visit to a Parks Canada location, including those in urban areas, cancel their plans.

To comply with this directive, Royal Roads is obliged to close the Hatley Park grounds to vehicle access by visitors effective immediately. Visitor parking facilities and the Hatley Park gardens are also closed to the public. This action respects the advice of public health experts to stay home and avoid public gatherings.

Royal Roads campus remains open to essential staff and for essential functions.  Hatley Park trails and grounds remain open to the public at this time. Social distancing requirements must be respected.
