Last night around 7 pm in the 700-block of Kelly Road in Colwood, a grey Mazda travelling westbound crashed into a culvert, flipped into the air, hit a utility pole and rested on its roof. Two occupants walked away.

When West Shore RCMP arrived they found the vehicle unoccupied. Witnesses at the scene told attending officers that a man and woman were seen walking out of the vehicle and leaving the scene of the collision.

The initial cause of the collision remains unknown, states Cst. Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the West Shore RCMP. It is hard to believe that this type of crash did not injure anyone involved. In fact, we are actively seeking to speak with the driver and passenger of that vehicle to ensure their well-being.

The 700-block of Kelly Road runs between Pickford Road and Porcher Place.

BC Hydro attended the scene to have the utility pole replaced later in the evening.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
