The Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen who suffered a cardiac arrest (and died for a short while on field before being resuscitated) while representing his country at EURO 2020 this past weekend (in a game against Finland), is now in stable condition in hospital.

Representatives from his current club, Inter Milan, reportedly say that he had not contracted COVID-19 and was not vaccinated. One of the symptoms of COVID-19 infection is heart tissue inflammation, apparently more so in men.

International sports is a major form of entertainment. Some public opinion is that the TV cameras remained too long on the scene of Eriksen collapsed on the field. The Denmark team captain began resuscitation and instructed team players to form a protective shield around the downed soccer player.

Once there was word that Eriksen was stable in hospital, after a 90-minute pause the game between Finland and Denmark continued.
