The developers of The Beachlands master-planned community have commenced work on road construction upgrades along Metchosin Road in Colwood.
The work will last from June 9 through October 1, 2025, south of Latoria Road to north of Ryder Hesjedal Way where it exits onto Metchosin Road.
The developers are Reliance Properties and Seacliff Properties. [See announcement about the opening of The Beachlands Community Experience Center – May 31, 2025]
Roadworks on the east side:
The work is being done along the east side of the road from south of Latoria Boulevard intersection to north of the Ryder Hesjedal Way intersection.
The works include curb, sidewalk, center median, street lighting, and paving, according to a City of Colwood news release.
Expect delays:
Expect delays with single-lane, alternating traffic during construction hours.
Traffic control signage and personnel will be on-site. Please reduce speeds and follow directions and the posted signage. Avoid the area if you can by using the alternate routes. Two-way traffic will be reopened after construction hours.
Access is maintained:
Access to all properties in the area will be maintained throughout construction. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
The main roadworks contractor is Hall Constructors.
