This morning October 13 at about 9:20 am West Shore RCMP received a report from a homeowner about two suspects breaking into her home in the 3100-block of Glen Lake Road in Langford.

The homeowner says she saw a Dodge Ram 2500 piciup truck in her parking spot when she arrived home, and two male suspects leaving with stolen items. A licence plate number was recorded.

Police determined that the pickup truck was a vehicle that had been reported stolen from another Langford residence earlier this morning. A chase ensued when police spotted the suspect vehicle on Six Mile Road in View Royal; the truck at a high rate of speed eventually came to a stop when colliding with a rock wall near the entrance to Thetis Lake Park, says Cst Nancy Saggar, Media Relations Officer, West Shore RCMP.

The suspects were chased down and caught. One sustained a dog bite from the West Shore RCMP police dog and is being treated for minor injuries.

Arrests are for numerous offences including break-and-enter and theft from the residence, vehicle theft, dangerous driving as well as flight from police.

One of the suspects was in possession of weapons (extendable baton and knife), therefore further weapons charges are being investigated, says Cst Saggar.
